Virtual therapy, throughout California
Hi, I'm Alex.
I'm a licensed therapist working with individuals and couples across California, virtually, from wherever you are.
Before we get into credentials or approach, I want you to know something simpler:
You don't have to have this figured out to be here. Curious is enough.
Why this work
For as long as I can remember, I've been trying to understand what it means to be human. Even as a kid, I was drawn to questions about identity, emotion, and why people show up in the world the way they do. That curiosity never really left. It just grew up and became the foundation of my clinical work.
I identify as queer myself, and that's part of why identity, in all its complexity, is never treated as an afterthought in my practice. Our identities, our lived experiences, our social context: they matter just as much in the therapy room as they do outside of it.
How I Work
My work draws on attachment theory, psychodynamic thinking, and a person-centered approach, held together by a strong commitment to cultural humility and LGBTQIA+ affirming care. In plainer terms: I pay attention to how you learned to connect (or protect yourself from connecting), and I bring an intersectional feminist lens to understanding how the world outside the therapy room shapes what happens inside it.
I'm also EMDR trained and have completed both the EFT Externship and Core Skills training, two of the leading approaches for trauma and attachment-based work.
Education
+ Path Here
I earned my Bachelor of Science in Human Services, with an emphasis in Mental Health and Substance Abuse, followed by a Master of Science in Counseling. My clinical roots started at the LGBT Center OC, where I completed my traineeship, and later grew through work as a school-based therapist in the Chino and Placentia-Yorba Linda school districts.
These days, I'm also an adjunct professor at Cal State Fullerton, where I teach and support students as they navigate themselves into the professional world.
Ready to Connect?
If you're the kind of person who wants to understand your patterns instead of just managing them, who's willing to be a little uncomfortable in service of something more honest, I'd love to work with you. Individuals, couples, queer and trans clients, people who've never quite felt like they fit the mold: there's room here.
